ONE WHO GOT AWAY

Written by Sarah Beth Terry

ONE WHO GOT AWAY

The last man I ever thought I’d see again

Took my breath when you walked in

I managed to get out “how you been”

without dying

Small talk ain’t easy to do

When all I wanna say is I’m in love with you

Not really sure how I’ll get through

But I’m trying

I Didn’t miss you

No I don’t want to kiss you

You were the one that I couldn’t get over

The girl I was

how many times I’ve told her

Don’t cry for him, don’t cry for him

He don’t love you anymore

I’ve learned how to live

my life without you

I even have days I don’t think about you

Now here you are, throwing me off track

So what do you do

when the one who got away comes back

God I wish I could read your mind

If you’re here for me or just killing time

Is it accident or did the stars align above us

I know that you’re talking that I can’t hear

I’m lost in what used to be 100 years ago

All that I know is when I’d kiss your ear

you’d love it

Pull it together

girl you know better
