INTO THE MOUNTAINS I GO

Written by Sarah Beth Terry,

INTO THE MOUNTAINS I GO

The world went and got itself into a rush

A great big damn hurry there’s no need to push

I’ve had my fill of the city, the smog, and the smoke

So into the mountains I go

I can live off the land I can breathe in the air

Nothing for miles and miles all waiting there

Granddaddy’s granddaddy set roots down to grow

So into the mountains I go

And I will wander over the hills

And I’ll wind up where sunlight don’t show

My people are calling my spirit back home

So into the mountains I go

The heart of a dweller's more precious than gold

And buried deep down like the pockets of coal

I gave him My heart and he gave me his soul

So into the mountains I go
